Green Angel Ventures has invested in Arda Biomaterials, a chemistry technology company creating high-performance materials from industrial food waste.

Arda has raised £4.05M in its latest round, led by Oyster Bay Venture Capital, alongside Green Angel Ventures, Clean Growth Fund, and Kadmos Capital. The new funding will enable Arda to make advancements in the R&D of its first product, New Grain^TM, a plant-based, plastic-free, leather-like material derived from spent grain, the byproduct of beer and whisky production.

Fuel Ventures has led an investment round for pioneering climate-success company, 51toCarbonZero, the first platform to ensure effective corporate transition to net zero while boosting clients' business performance. UK-based startup Matoha, manufacturers of AI-powered material identification scanners, have completed a first phase of Seed funding which will enable them to solve the problem of textiles sorting for recycling. The round was led by Archipelago Ventures and the Circular Plastics Accelerator with additional investment from Conduit Connect, British Design Fund, Fashion for Good and others.

Komodo Energy, the Cambridge based software company tackling the energy grid challenge of electrifying heat, has raised £340,000 from investors who deeply understand energy flexibility markets and have backed other critical energy flexibility players at their earliest stages such as Electron, Piclo and Ev Energy.

Bower Collective, a leading sustainable home and personal care product brand has secured equity funding from the British Business Bank's South West Investment Fund. The investment comes via appointed Fund Manager, The FSE Group, and takes Bower's total funds now raised through multiple funding rounds to £6.6 million.
