London based Permia Sensing, an agritech startup on a mission to sustainably increase productivity on palm plantations, has secured a £150,000 investment from British Design Fund.  The Imperial College London spinout is seeking to revolutionise the way palm plantations are managed, with the introduction of precision farming techniques supported by IoT, AI, sensors, and robotics. This includes helping improve yields through the use of sensors that enable the early detection of damaging pests.

LegalFly, a pioneering legal AI platform, has raised over €15 million in Series A funding led by Notion Capital, with participation from redalpine and Fortino Capital. Founded one year ago, LegalFly has swiftly made its mark on the legal tech industry. This investment comes just eight months after the company’s €2 million Seed round led by redalpine, which saw early participation from industry leaders including Mehdi Ghissassi, Director of Product at Google Deepmind.

Edit Cloud, a new cloud based, AI-fuelled editing platform, has secured £2m funding to empower collaboration in the post production sector. Founded by broadcast industry insider Simon Green, Edit Cloud’s innovative, virtual editing platform is set to make waves in the production landscape. The platform aggregates cloud-based tools and AI technology to enable teams to work collaboratively and efficiently from any device, any software, anywhere in the world.

Educational Intelligence, an innovative B2B/SaaS company specializing in online adult learning, has successfully closed its seed round at £750k – significantly above its funding target. This investment will be pivotal in building their Minimum Viable Product (MVP), validating market fit, and establishing the business commercially.

USA: Proofs, which uses AI agents to dramatically accelerate the proof-of-concept phase in software sales, has raised $2.6 million (€2.4 million) in pre-seed financing. The round was led by Earlybird Digital East Fund with support from Expeditions Fund, Step Function Ventures, RTP Global, and a number of prominent angel investors.

Iris.ai, a provider of a world-leading and award-winning AI engine for scientific text understanding, has raised €7.64m in its latest funding round. This investment will support the company's continued growth and innovation in the field of AI-assisted scientific research, and contribute to a dynamic European AI ecosystem. The round includes a number of angel investors who invested around 10% of the equity.

The Development Bank of Wales has invested £250,000 in a £440,000 a funding round for Tendertec whose AI-powered technology is helping to keep the elderly healthy, independent and safe.  

USA: S2N Health, Inc. has successfully secured seed funding to fuel the growth of the company’s RepSignal^TM medtech customer intelligence SaaS platform, and to develop a robust roadmap of AI-powered solutions for accelerating the market impact of healthcare technologies. The round was led by Excelerate Health Ventures, a premier digital health fund focused on healthcare software and technology-enabled services, with participation from other established healthcare and technology investors, including Boston Millennia Partners and Robin Hood Ventures. 

The startup led by the Raiola brothers and supported by IAG and Italians in VC Partners is revolutionizing healthcare access with an AI platform for musculoskeletal services. 

Sona, the next-generation, intelligent workforce management platform for frontline enterprises founded by Steffen Wulff Petersen, Oli Johnson and Ben Dixon, has rasied a $27.5M Series A. Felicis led the financing with participation from Northzone, Google's AI-fund Gradient, SpeedInvest, Antler, BAG Ventures, and numerous notable angels participated in the round. Sona has raised $40M+ to date and will use this fresh round of capital to expand its go-to-market function and build more advanced AI capabilities on its platform. In 2023 alone, Sona experienced an explosive 400%+ revenue growth. To date, over 4.6 million shifts have been created on Sona.

Symbe, an AI-powered platform that helps sales teams win more deals by automating the creation of tailored business cases, has raised a £1.2m pre-seed round led by Concept Ventures and joined by Pact VC, Notion Capital, and a range of leading angels through Nodes Ventures. Angels include Resolv Labs Founder, Fedor Chmile, Founders Capital CEO, Richard Hadler, and a series of angels from Stripe.

ITALY: Club degli Investitori has invested in Glaut’s $1.4 million pre-seed round. Glaut, founded by Matteo Cera and Giovanni Del Gallo in late 2023, aims to help the Marketing areas of large B2C companies make better business decisions through a new market research methodology: conversational surveys, using artificial intelligence to conduct in-depth market research at scale.
