Three quarters (74%) of tech entrepreneurs and business leaders are forecasting growth in 2017 according to recent research by Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group.

Leading cyber-security software specialist ZoneFox, has today closed a £3.6 million Series A funding round. The round is led by Scottish business angel investment syndicate, Archangels, with co-investment from The Scottish Investment Bank, and TriCap and follows the £2.5 million in seed funding the company has taken since 2010.

HBAN (Halo Business Angel Network) set up 202 start-ups with angel investors in 2016. The all-island group is responsible for the promotion of business angel investment in Ireland and last year’s match-making efforts resulted in 50 relationships blossoming.

BrickVest, the London-based online real estate investment platform, has raised £2 million. The company is backed by 44 angel investors. These investors include prominent real estate, finance and tech industry figures.

Maven Capital Partners has completed a £6.5 million management buy-out of Healthpoint Limited, which sources and supplies healthcare and beauty products into the retail sector. The equity investment was funded through Maven’s co-investment network for professional clients ‘Investor Partners’, with debt and working capital funding provided by Barclays plc.

Members of the Co-Investor Circle (CIC) has completed a follow-on funding round into Push Doctor, Europe’s largest online GP marketplace.  CIC members have invested alongside Oxford Capital, Draper Esprit and Partech as part of a £3.5m round to support Push Doctor’s continued growth in the digital healthcare market.
