Industrial tech startup STILRIDE raises €3.7m

Swedish electromobility and industrial tech startup STILRIDE has raised €3.7m to fuel future growth and innovation, following unprecedented demand for its inaugural electric motorcycle - the Sport Utility Scooter One (SUS1) -  and sustainable manufacturing technology, dubbed “industrial origami”.  The round was joined by new and existing angels that include Gustaf Hagman, Saeid Esmaeilizadeh and Tobias Emanuelsson (founder and CEO at Polar Structure).

YFM and angels back £3m funding for product intelligence platform Vypr

Fast-growing consumer insights business Vypr has received an additional £3m of investment from YFM Equity Partners (YFM) through its British Smaller Companies VCTs to fund strategic sales and product development as the business continues to scale.  Funded in its early stages by a number of angel investors in various seed rounds, a few of them participated in this follow-on round

Finnish startup Book Salon launches in the UK

Book Salon, a payment and booking service provider specializing in hair, beauty, and wellness companies, is launching operations in the UK. The Finnish startup has raised £3,7 million from private investors to date, including Big Bets VC and promonent angel investors such as Lennu Keinänen. Book Salon provides entrepreneurs with a full suite of modern tools to run a successful business. Book Salon offers payment terminals and a payment processing service, in addition to its website builder, online booking systems, and cash and accounting reports.

Insurtech Peachy raises $1.6m to democratise access to private healthcare

New insurtech Peachy has raised $1.6m seed round from a number of angel investors from the insurance world, reflecting both the strength of Peachy’s radical new approach as the change that is needed and the quality of the business that has been built to deliver it.  The company's mission to radically improve financial inclusion in private healthcare has received a $1.6m boost from an impressive list of former executives of the insurance world who believe radical change is necessary and that Peachy is the answer.

Solar tech firm Sunstone raises £1m to fund growth

British technology company, Sunstone Systems, has raised £1m in equity finance in its latest funding round. 

 

 

 

 

Based in Kent, Sunstone Systems creates solar-powered technologies that provide surveillance, wireless networks and satellite communications to some of the most remote locations in the world. All while helping global organisations to reduce their CO2 emissions. This fundraise comes off the back of a stellar period of growth which saw it double year on year revenue in 2021, with projections to do the same in 2022.

KYP raises £800,000 and appoints new directors

Building on its recent launch and in line with its growth plans for North America and Europe, KYP has announced the closure of its pre-seed funding round with total funds of approximately £800,000 raised. Despite often quoted challenging market conditions, KYP pre-seed round was 35% oversubscribed with the support of US based 1414 Ventures, BH Ventures and some leading UK Angel Investors.

Innovative secondary glazing start-up Gecko secures £150k from British Design Fund

 

Edinburgh startup, Gecko Glazing, has created an affordable, easily-installed alternative to double glazing that can cut window heat loss and carbon emissions by up to 50%. With huge potential to improve inefficient homes, including historic and listed buildings, the company has just secured a £150k investment in a funding round led by British Design Fund.
