KYP raises £800,000 and appoints new directors

Building on its recent launch and in line with its growth plans for North America and Europe, KYP has announced the closure of its pre-seed funding round with total funds of approximately £800,000 raised. Despite often quoted challenging market conditions, KYP pre-seed round was 35% oversubscribed with the support of US based 1414 Ventures, BH Ventures and some leading UK Angel Investors.

Innovative secondary glazing start-up Gecko secures £150k from British Design Fund

 

Edinburgh startup, Gecko Glazing, has created an affordable, easily-installed alternative to double glazing that can cut window heat loss and carbon emissions by up to 50%. With huge potential to improve inefficient homes, including historic and listed buildings, the company has just secured a £150k investment in a funding round led by British Design Fund.

Kaiko Systems raises €2m to digitize frontline work in ocean shipping

Kaiko Systems, a Berlin-based software startup digitizing maritime shipping, has completed a seed financing round of € 2 million. Investors participating in the funding round include Schoeller Holdings, Vineta Ventures, A Round Capital, and Flagship Founders, as well as industry experts such as Clasen Rickmers and Justus Kniffka.

Innovative angel-backed EV scheme takes hold in Barnet

Motorists in one of London’s biggest boroughs are set to benefit from a multi-million pound investment in on-street, residential, electric vehicle (EV) charging spaces. Barnet will see the installation of over 500 charging points, designed to be flat-and-flush with the pavement, that will enable residents without driveways to charge their EVs easily and locally, and embrace a move towards cleaner transport.

Wealth Club members invest £1m in Anaphite

Bristol-based Anaphite, which is developing new technology to improve batteries for electric vehicles, has raised just under £1 million from Wealth Club clients under the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). The funding was part of Anaphite’s latest £4.1 million funding institutional round, with Wealth Club taking 20% of the raise. Blue Wire Capital, OION, Zero Carbon Capital, Silicon Roundabout Ventures and Deeptech Labs, who are highly regarded as an accelerator for deep tech companies, have also invested.

Mavenoid raises $30m for AI-powered hardware support platform

Mavenoid, the leading hardware support platform, has secured $30 million in a Series B financing round led by Smedvig Capital. Previous investors, Creandum, Mosaic, and Point Nine Capital, as well as new investors NordicNinja, ABB Technology Ventures, and financing partner SVB UK, also participated in the round.

SFC Capital leads funding for Compliant payment system Ryft

Ryft, the revolutionary PSD2 compliant payments system, has raised a large seed round, led by SFC Capital, the UK’s most active seed-stage investor. Additional investors include the ex-founder of Shutterstock and the founder of LoveFilm. Ryft enables automated next day payouts for marketplace businesses and their merchants, for a single flat fee per transaction.

SaaS solution provider LiSA raises €2.7 million to expand

Live and social shopping SaaS solution provider LiSA has raised €2.7 million investment in a seed round led by TechVision Fonds (TVF). The investment will help to both accelerate the growth of its social commerce SaaS business and make frictionless, cross-platform social commerce a reality through its headless solutions and API-based partner ecosystem. 

The German startup, which participated in Brent Hoberman’s Founders Factory accelerator program in 2019, also received funding from the UK’s VC Venrex and angel investor Georgie Smallwood, part of Accel’s first cohort of Scouts and chief product officer at micro mobility startup Tier.

CamGraPhIC raises over £800k to scale up

Cambridge University spin out, GamGraPhic has raised £813,475 from Wealth Club clients through the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). This takes its total amount raised to £1.26 million, which has been raised through an equity funding round from existing and new investors led by Frontier IP and Wealth Club.

‘Airbnb for house shares’ raises a further £500k

A proptech company which aims to be the ‘Airbnb for shared living’ has raised over £500,000 in additional funding from existing investors.  Worcester-based COHO has secured investment from the MEIF Proof of Concept & Early Stage Fund, which is managed by Mercia and part of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, and private investors. The funding will enable it to scale the platform, strengthen its management team and continue its rapid growth.
