Chemical tech company secures £2.25m investment to accelerate growth

A Liverpool-based chemical technology company that is helping in the fight against dementia, cancer and respiratory illnesses has secured £2.25m in a funding round led by the VC firms Deepbridge Capital and Praetura Ventures.  Liverpool ChiroChem (LCC), the developer and manufacturer of chemical components that are critical to the research and development of new drugs, also saw investment from NPIF - Maven Equity Finance, managed by Maven and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.

Lifebit Biotech closes $7.5 million funding round

Lifebit Biotech, a leading innovator in bioinformatics and cognitive software solutions, has closed its Series A funding round of US$7.5M (£6 million) led by Idinvest Partners, to fuel ongoing product innovations and global market expansion. One Utility Bill raises £1.7m in funding round led by DSW Angels

One Utility Bill – which simplifies utility billing for tenants, landlords and letting agents - has raised £1.7m to further develop its platform and expand its business.

The funding round was led by DSW Angels, the venture capital business of the Dow Schofield Watts group, and included existing investors the North East Innovation Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Northstar Ventures.

Maven Capital Partners has completed a £2.5m investment in Precursive, a software as a service (SaaS) company which allows clients to manage a wide range of business processes effectively on a single, easy-to-use platform.

Founded in 2011, Precursive is a strategic partner of Salesforce, the world's largest provider of customer relationship management (CRM) software. The company helps businesses in the agency, consulting, technology and professional services sectors operate more efficiently by automating admin-heavy and time-consuming processes such as resource management, project planning, accounting, forecasting, reporting and client onboarding. Precursive is based in London but has a presence in the USA, Spain and Poland, as well as a growing list of blue-chip clients including GoCardless, Mitel, GoCardless, SES and Vidyard.
