Food Allergy Group raises £1.25 million to continue expansion plans

Acceleris Capital portfolio company Reacta Biotech has completed its largest funding round to date, involving £1.25m of equity finance, with further investment expected in the coming months.  Reacta is a Deeside-based biotechnology company producing diagnostic kits for food allergy.  Cases of food allergy and allergy-related hospitalisations continue to rise globally at an alarming rate.  Reacta’s core focus is to improve the diagnosis and management of allergies through the provision of a pharmaceutical grade Oral Food Challenge (OFC), the gold standard for the clinical testing of food allergy.

Innovative VC firm pledges £20m for online businesses by end of 2020

A new revenue finance company has pledged £20m of funding for online business by the end of 2020.

The revolutionary venture funding firm, Just Capital, provides businesses with up to £1m of funding to help them rapidly scale revenues, via repeatable channels like paid marketing and inventory, without relinquishing equity. 

Unlike equity raises or traditional loans, and in contrast to lengthy pitching and applications, Just Capital uses a speedy, self-serve platform for businesses to request funding. MMC and Praetura back $12 million funding in AI startup Peak

Peak, the pioneer of the enterprise AI System, has completed a $12 million extended series A funding round led by existing investors MMC Ventures and Praetura Ventures. One Utility Bill raises £1.7m in funding round led by DSW Angels

One Utility Bill – which simplifies utility billing for tenants, landlords and letting agents - has raised £1.7m to further develop its platform and expand its business.

The funding round was led by DSW Angels, the venture capital business of the Dow Schofield Watts group, and included existing investors the North East Innovation Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Northstar Ventures.

British Business Investments commits £10m to Startup Funding Club

British Business Investments Ltd, a commercial subsidiary of the British Business Bank, has announced a new commitment under its £100m Regional Angels Programme, committing £10m to Startup Funding Club Limited (SFC).

The commitment will be managed by SFC and invested alongside the SFC SEIS & EIS Funds as well as the SFC Angel Network. SFC intends to deploy the commitment in over 100 early stage businesses across the UK to deliver almost £30m of new funding for start-up and scale-up businesses across all sectors.
