Silverfleet Capital invests in Microgen Financial Systems Limited

Silverfleet Capital, the leading Pan-European private equity firm, has agreed to acquire Microgen Financial Systems Limited, a leading provider of Trust & Fund Administration (T&FA) software to the Trust and Corporate Services industry. The transaction is subject to the approval of the shareholders of the seller, Aptitude Software Group plc.

Tech delivery company Sorted lands £15m

Sorted, the global delivery experience company, today announces it has secured £15 million in a recent funding round led by Praetura Ventures and NVM Private Equity LLP. This follows earlier rounds of investment from Praetura and NVM, bringing Sorted’s funding to a total of £22m over the last four years.  The funding will be used to accelerate Sorted’s ambitious global product roadmap, following the recent launch of its revolutionary delivery tracking solution, SortedREACT, which joins additional intelligent services in the firm’s product suite: SortedHERO and SortedPRO.

Suir Valley Ventures invests in Ambisense as part of €1.1m investment round

Suir Valley Ventures, the entrepreneur-led venture capital fund launched in partnership with Shard Capital Partners LLP to invest in early stage software companies across a range of high-tech verticals, is pleased to announce its participation alongside Atlantic Bridge, in a €1.1 million investment round for Ambisense Ltd, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) environmental analytics company. The round was also supported by Enterprise Ireland and a number of private investors.

Life Insurer yulife Raises £10 Million in Funding Led by Creandum

yulife, the life insurance company which puts wellbeing at the heart of its insurance offering, has announced that it has secured £10 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Creandum Funds, backers of Spotify, iZettle and depop. MMC Ventures and Notion Capital participated in the round alongside existing investors Anthemis Exponential Ventures, RGAX and Israel’s most active venture investor OurCrowd. This new round of funding follows a previous £3m seed-round led by LocalGlobe.

TriEye secures $17M in Series A financing

Israeli startup TriEye, whose innovative Short-Wave-Infra-Red (SWIR) sensing technology is able to see in adverse weather and night-time conditions, announced today a $17M Series A funding round, led by Intel Capital. Other investors include Marius Nacht, co-founder of Check Point Software Technologies, and TriEye’s existing investor Grove Ventures, headed by TriEye chairman Dov Moran, the inventor of the USB flash drive and co-founder of M-Systems. Since inception, TriEye has raised over $20M, including a seed investment of $3M led by Grove Ventures in November 2017.

Syncona founds Quell Therapeutics with £35 million investment

Syncona Ltd has founded Quell Therapeutics, a new cell therapy company, with a £35 million commitment in a Series A financing of which Syncona has committed £34.0 million with a further £1.0 million being contributed by UCL Technology Fund. Syncona will have a 69.3 per cent stake (1) in the business, with the first tranche of the Series A commitment of £8.3m paid in May 2019.

Development Bank invests £80m in Welsh businesses

The Development Bank of Wales’ first full year has helped even more Welsh businesses to grow.  In the financial year ending 31 March 2019 the Development Bank of Wales invested a total of £80m, an increase of nearly 18% on the year before.  420 investments were completed across the whole of Wales during the year – 30% more than the previous 12 months.
