QVentures has invested in Béa Fertility, bringing at-home fertility treatments to the UK. Healthcare start-up Béa Fertility has raised $1m to bring a pioneering at-home fertility treatment to the UK. QVentures joins the round led by Calm/Storm VC and which includes an innovation grant from the recent Innovate UK SMART competition.

Cyclr Systems Limited has secured over £2 million in new investment led by Blackfinch Ventures and supported by existing investors Juno Capital.

One Utility Bill - the Newcastle-based business which simplifies the utilities experience for consumers, landlords and letting agents - has raised a further £1.6m in its second fundraise within a year. The follow-on investment round was led by incumbent investors DSW Ventures, the venture capital business of the Dow Schofield Watts group, alongside the North East Innovation Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Northstar Ventures.

Oxford Endovascular, a pioneering British MedTech company and spin-out from Oxford University, is developing a treatment for brain aneurysms, that will overcome challenges with existing medical devices. It has just raised $10m in a series A funding round.

The funding which was conducted in Pounds Sterling includes a £3m investment from new investors Vulpes Investment Management, who joined to lead the round and funds from the Additio Investment Group. Existing investors Oxford Sciences Innovation PLC, Parkwalk Advisors, Perivoli Innovations, Oxford Investment Consultants, the University of Oxford and private individuals also followed on.

Forward Partners and Landscape VC have revealed that the majority of founders believe their investors failed to add value beyond capital, despite most firms promising a package of support.

Mid-market private equity firm NorthEdge has acquired Correla, an innovative technology and data services business that aims to help create a less complex and more sustainable energy sector.

Circularity Capital LLP has continued to build its portfolio of European growth stage businesses enabling the circular economy by leading a growth capital investment in PackBenefit, a European innovator in high-performance fibre-based food packaging. The investment sees AXA IM Alts co-invest alongside Circularity Capital through the AXA Impact Fund Climate and Biodiversity. Through this investment, Circularity Capital and AXA IM team up with JZ International, who invested in the company at inception in 2013.  

CyTAL – a specialist provider of cyber-security product assurance services – has closed a significant equity funding round to support its accelerated growth plans for ProtoCrawler, its ground-breaking cyber security fuzz-testing software.

Baseimmune, the early-stage UK biotech startup, is combining big data and biological expertise to predict how viruses will change and identify ‘future-proof’ antigens that will form the crucial elements of the next generation of vaccines.  In order to further the development of its platform and start pre-clinical development in the lab, Baseimmune has secured a £685,000 investment, led by European university VC fund, Creator Fund, and includes Mike Watson, ex-president of Moderna's infectious disease spin-out with the support of Vaccitech and Oxford University. Maki VC and Rockmount Seed Investments also joined the round.

Silverfleet Capital, the European private equity firm, has invested in the fast-growing, SaaS provider, OneStock, a European leader in modern and agile OMS software for retail.  Silverfleet will hold a significant minority stake in OneStock. 

Reckitt’s London-based purpose-led venture arm, has announced a new strategic partnership between heritage clothes care brand Vanish and space-age laundry and dry-cleaning startup Oxwash. The ‘Oxwash, powered by Vanish’ partnership will see Oxwash use the new Vanish sustainable formula - Vanish 0% - in its London state of the art washing facilities, also known as lagoons, to help give old clothes a new life, preventing tonnes of clothes from ending up in landfill.
