Nayms secures $6 million for future NAYM Token

Insurtech platform Nayms has announced a new cohort of investors who have subscribed to a future listing of the project's native token, NAYM. This new cohort includes some existing investors, including XBTO, Maven11 and Coinbase Ventures, whilst welcoming in the likes of Spartan Ventures, DFG, LD Capital, Cadenza, Woodstock, and Kin Insurance CEO, Sean Harper. These investors are among 20+ funds and angels across the digital asset and insurance market who are partaking in the NAYM token round.

Housing solutions firm Modulous gets investment from CEMEX Ventures

CEMEX Ventures, the corporate venture capital and open innovation unit of CEMEX, has increased its participation in Modulous, a UK based company that exploits technology in a bid to modernise the design and construction of affordable housing, making the process more efficient, scalable, and relying on a strong network of supply chain partners. Modulous received its first investment from CEMEX Ventures in 2020 after winning the firm’s Construction Startup Competition.

Road safety app RoadHow gains £500,000 MEIF investment

Solihull based RoadHow, an app designed to help drivers to become safer and more aware on the road, while potentially saving them money on their insurance, has secured £500k from Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) WM Equity Finance Fund, managed by venture capital firm Midven (part of the Future Planet Capital group).

The software platform and app, which has been in development for two years, can be used by motorists to test their driving knowledge and aid further learning. Insurers will be able to review and monitor the data collected and offer incentives or discounts on car insurance, adding a new set of data into the insurance pricing and underwriting decision making process.

BGF, the UK & Ireland’s most active growth capital investor, has completed a cornerstone investment in The Artisanal Spirits Company plc, a specialist retailer of premium single cask, single malt Scotch whisky and other spirits, as part of its admission to trading on AIM. SFC Capital leads £400k funding in House of Insurtech

House of Insurtech has secured £400k in a seed round led by SFC Capital and supported by follow-on funding from its existing Angel investors. 

The funds will be used to build out the sales and marketing arm of the business and to onboard new customers from the direct and embedded insurance markets onto House of Insurtech’s Insurforce platform.

Oxwash’s green tech secures £2.08m to accelerate the cleanup laundry sector

Putting a sustainable spin on laundry, Oxwash, the UK-based startup backed by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has raised £2.08m ($3M) in seed expansion investment, to clean up the traditional and environmentally costly washing and dry cleaning sector with its space-age technology.

Raising £5.2M ($7M) to date, the company founded in 2018 by ex-NASA scientist and Forbes’s Europe’s 30 under 30 alumni, Dr Kyle Grant and Oxford engineer Tom de Wilson, uses water-saving ozone technology to sterilize fabrics at lower temperatures, thermal and biodegradable chemical processes to achieve higher than medical-grade disinfection, dissolvable laundry bags, along with electric cargo bikes for hyper local pickups and deliveries.
