Treefera raises $2.2m to transform carbon offsetting with AI

Treefera, a pioneering AI-powered data platform that revolutionizes forest data and conservation, has closed a $2.2 million pre-Seed funding round, led by Concept Ventures. Treefera’s transformative platform aims to reshape the carbon offset market, addressing a sector predicted to reach $250 billion by 2050. The round saw participation from esteemed investors including Twin Path Ventures, January Ventures, and Greg Lavender, CTO of Intel, as an Angel investor.

Goldilock secures $1.7 million seed round

British cybersecurity company Goldilock has secured investment and support from members of two well-known investor groups – Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of GreaterNY (HBSAANY) and New York Angels (NYA). The $1.7 million seed round is a significant vote of confidence in Goldilock’s unique, patented, non-IP controlled hardware approach to cybersecurity.

Development Bank of Wales backs Operati Limited

Waterspring Ventures, an award-winning early-stage venture capital firm based in Wales, has made its first investment into Operati Limited, which has built the first Software as a Service (SaaS) estimating solution of its kind for the SME market.

Waterspring Ventures is investing £280k of its first tranche into the business. It has partnered with The Development Bank of Wales for the deal, which is investing £150k from the Technology Seed Fund, whilst the founders of Operati Limited have also invested £50k.

VCTs increase support for businesses amid wider decline in VC funding

The Venture Capital Trust Association (VCTA) has published new data gathered from over 600 early-stage companies that have benefited from VCT funding, which shows that deployment of capital into early-stage startups grew 8% year-on-year to £664 million, proving resilient in context of wider UK venture capital funding, which fell by almost a quarter (23%) in 2022.

Finnish startup Videobot secures €2M funding

TURKU, Finland: Videobot, a Finnish SaaS startup, has successfully raised €2 million in seed funding from Finland’s Superhero Capital, Luxembourg’s Expon Capital Digital Tech Fund, and angel investors, Sweden’s Urban Gillstrom and Finland’s Ari Korhonen. The company aims to transform the landscape of online customer engagement using personalized, interactive videos. The funding will be used to accelerate Videobot’s growth, especially in Europe and the US markets, both in which the company has already gained a solid foothold with over 200 customers in 15 countries and in multiple diverse industries.
