Livingbridge raises over £330 million to invest in UK SMEs

Livingbridge has closed its Livingbridge Enterprise 3 fund with total capital commitments of £334m, an increase of 50% on its predecessor fund, Livingbridge Enterprise 2, a 2015 vintage fund.

Ingenious backs AI pioneer to help combat global food waste

Ingenious's Infrastructure Ventures EIS Service has invested in Winnow, the technology company behind Winnow Vision, the artificial intelligence tool helping chefs cut food waste in half, as it completes its series B round of funding at $12m. Other co-investors in this fund raising round include Ingka Investments, Mustard Seed, Circularity Capital, D-Ax in addition to Ingenious.  This follows a recent loan from The European Investment Bank (EIB) and in total means the firm has raised $20m in the last month, allowing it to focus on global markets.

New ‘eyes in the skies’ as med-tech firm secures investment to scale in-flight medical monitoring

MIME Technologies, a med-tech spin-out from the University of Aberdeen, has raised a combined £255,000 from first round investment and a Scottish Enterprise grant.

Designed to revolutionise the support given to cabin crew during in-flight medical events, MIME Technologies’ innovative product can monitor a passenger’s vital signs while communicating with clinicians on the ground.

Renewable energy tech startup Sennen secures investment from Sustainable Accelerator

Technology company, Sennen, whose software increases the reliability and productivity achieved by renewable energy owners, has secured financial backing from investment firm Sustainable Accelerator in its first round of seed funding.

Experienced renewable energy business angels Colin Palmer and David Bunker are also investing in the business. Further investors will be announced soon with the total round expected to be nearly £400,000, double the initial target.

Cambridge medtech firm raises $16m Series A to advance life-saving cell therapies

Mogrify Ltd, a UK company aiming to transform the development of life-saving cell therapies, has announced the initial close of its Series A funding. The Company raised $16 million USD in this round, bringing the total investment to over $20 million USD to date. The funding will support internal cell therapy programs, and the development and out-license of novel IP relating to cell conversions of broad therapeutic interest. Mogrify is also actively recruiting, and will increase headcount to 60 scientific, operational and commercial staff located at its state-of-the-art facility on Cambridge Science Park.
